Rare Rockin' Records started out as a passion and as a hobby but has grown to something a little more. We are collectors of records from the 1950’s and 1960’s specialising in the rare, oddball and obscure recordings between the late 1950s and into the 1960s. Early in the Year 2000, after helping out other associates with compilation CDs, we decided to begin our own reissue label and thus the official Rare Rockin' Records label was born.

Our collection

While focussing on the 1950s and 1960s we predominantly involve ourselves with the “Teen Sound”, the “White Sound”, the “Group Sound”, and the “Girl Group Sound”, and of these three sub-genres alone there are many, many thousands of records. So our specialty in terms of years are from 1958 – 1965. We have approximately 6,000 45rpm records in our collection and around 2,000 LPs.

Our First Issues

Hideaway Heaven Volume 1 was the first of 7 volumes. in between those volumes we issued “The Big Sound” and “The Bigger Sound” (which is more powerful and focuses on Belgium Popcorn a sound we have always loved but which of course was first phrased in Belgium).
With the help of Toto In Belgium we issued 3 volumes of “Teenagers Forever” and then on to specialised girl groups CDs which have proved as popular – “The Girls of Hideaway Heaven” ( 3 Volumes) and ”The Girls of Rare Rockin' Records”. More recent releases are “Teen Dream Time” and “Rare Bacharach” (which is part of our new Master Songwriters series).
As we have progressed, our attention to detail has improved and we now feature better quality booklets and improved sound quality for the collector.

What lies ahead

Now after 24 releases we are proud to open this our new online store. With our brand new store we aim to not only issue great products but also to supply all the very best rare oldies of the 1950s and 1960s and beyond. So not only will you be able to purchase our own Limited Edition Releases as previously, you will also be able to purchase other obscure oldies CDs at the very best prices.

We have spent a long time re-organising our store, however as you browse through its categories you will see a heap of interesting information – in a lot of cases you can link to sound samples of various tracks on CDs before you purchase.

Our website now comes a number of ways by which you can purchase our products securely – via Credit Card, PayPal, Direct Deposit, or by Cheque (Check) / Money Order. You don't need to “Sign-up” on the shop to purchase but we recommend it so that we can keep you informed of what is happening down the track.
